I am so grateful to Pastor David Mark Baker Sr. (February 5, 1967 -
September 11, 2024) of the lighthouse Baptist Church in Columbus, Tennessee,
where he was the faithful pastor for 31 years from 1993 to 2024 Dr. baker
faithfully served our Lord Jesus Christ. He admirably served in prison
ministries for 28 years, helping men who were captured by Satan (Acts
26:17-18). Dr. Baker was involved in a ministry of restoring fallen
Christians, called Restoration Care Ministries (RCM).
God put a heavy burden in Pastor Baker's heart to begin a ministry of restoration for fallen Christian workers. Over the years thousands of hurting saints were rescued from the island of misfits and given Scriptural hope that by God's mercy and grace they could still be made use of by our forgiving God. Dear reader, we serve a God of second chances, and third chances, and fourth chances; unlimited chances (Matthew 18:21-22).
For over a decade, Brother Baker did much on social media to reach lost sinners with the saving Gospel of free grace, and to feed Jesus' sheep with his sermon truths and edifying insights. God bless this dear man of God.
Brother Baker Died An Innocent Man

Preachers are on the front lines of the war between good and evil today,
hated by the Devil's children. John 15:19, “If ye were of the world, the
world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have
chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
Case in point. Long time rock band KISS Frontman Gene Simmons (real Jewish
name: Chaim Witz) has
boasted publicly of having commit fornication with 5,000 women (Hebrews
13:4), which the American newsmedia sanctions and even rewards, continually
praising Mr. Simmons for his musical success. Even
U.S. President Donald Trump honored Gene Simmons in 2025. SHAME!!!
Yet, when Pastor Baker was merely accused in 2024 of wrong doing, the wicked
media ran with the story as if it were Gospel truth and demonized him
without mercy. The poor fella didn't even have his day in court yet before
slanderers, haters and the wicked media tore him down. The truth is that
they hated Brother Baker because he was a fundamentalist Bible preacher,
just like the world hated Jesus (John 7:7). ...

And their effort is to destroy Hyles-Anderson College! Over my dead body...” —Dr. Jack Hyles, a quote from the May 14, 1989 sermon, “Weathering The Storm!
Whatever happened to a person being deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law? Anyone would feel overwhelmed when the media and haters go after an accused man without mercy to slander and hate on him. Proverbs 11:9, “An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.” Tragically, Pastor Baker in a moment of feeling overwhelmed took his own life on September 11th, 2024. I have been in his shoes and know how he felt. I almost took my own life long ago when I was horribly accused, arrested and spent years in court. I miss my dear Brother in Christ, but am comforted to know that his suffering and pain is over.
The following Scripture passage was read at my Mom's graduation to Heaven in August of 2001. Revelation 14:13, “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”

The Bible identifies Satan as
THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN! Revelation 12:10, “And I heard a loud voice
saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of
our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is
cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” Lucifer's
day of reckoning is coming, when he will split Hell wide open for his crimes
against God and humanity.
When you unjustly accuse someone without proof, you are behaving just like
the Devil. That's why we have a proper legal court system! In the court of
public opinion there is no cross-examination, you are automatically presumed
guilty and your name and reputation are ruined before you've even been to
court. That is as evil and Satanic as idolatry, murder, witchcraft and the
Church of Satan!
The ungodly media in Columbus, Tennessee, published the slander of one
bitter, angry, ungodly woman against Pastor Baker, and that became their
sole opinion of Pastor Baker's entire life. SHAME on the media! Woe unto
that news station on Judgment Day. If I, being a broken guilty redeemed
sinner (like you are too), can see the utter hypocrisy of the secular media
and the heathen, do you think our omnipotent, omniscient and just Creator
doesn't see it? Hebrews 4:12, “Neither is there any creature that is not
manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of
him with whom we have to do.”
We are living in a wicked generation in the United States where people who
go into sin are often kicked in the head by self-righteous haters. Our
American news media is toxic! All they do is criticize, find fault, tear
down and assume guilty before there is even a proper court trial.
Matthew 7:1-5, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.”
Satan calls us by our sins; God calls us by our name. The world remembers a man for his sins and faults; but concerning the saints, God looks at the entire life (Revelation 14:13). Dear reader, Pastor David Baker fought the good fight of faith in defense of the verbal and plenary inspiration of the trustworthy King James Bible, as I am continually to do.

I love Pastor Baker and dearly miss my ministry friend. Brother Baker faithfully served God for most of his adult life, diligently laboring for Jesus Christ in prison ministry work for over 28 years. Pastor Baker was involved in numerous different aspects of ministry, including teaching at fundamental Christian Bible colleges and volunteering as a local coach. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army, as was Pastor Jack Hyles in World War II.
Brother David Baker Sr. and I were both born in 1967. We are both grateful graduates of Hyles-Anderson College in Crownpoint, Indiana. We are both loyal preacher boys of Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001), our hero of the Christian faith. I thank God for Pastor Baker's Christian testimony and faithfulness to our great Savior, Lord and God.
I thank the good Lord for this faithful but imperfect servant of God (as are all of us imperfect sinners). There but for the grace of God go all of us. Not one saint in the Holy Bible was perfect, not one! We are all guilty sinners in God's sight. Psalms 106:6, “We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.” Pastor Baker died an innocent man, with no charges on his court record. Moreover, no saint of God has any charges recorded against them in Heaven (Romans 8:34).
Pastor Baker Was A Soldier For The Lord Jesus Christ
Like myself, by God's grace, Pastor Baker fought the good fight of faith. He exposed the wickedness of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, who in 2009 sadly changed their historic long held view that the King James Bible is inspired by God and without error. Pastor Jack Schaap wickedly shook the faith of thousands of members of First Baptist Church and Hyles-Anderson College. It was a Wednesday evening service. Pastor Schaap asked everyone to open their King James Bible to numerous passages, showing that some verses read “he” and others “she.” He said this proves that the King James Bible is not inspired by God, nor without error. But these were mere typographical errors by humans, not a negative refection upon the superbly inspired true and tested 1611 King James Bible translation.
Pastor Hyles warned in 1998...
“The biggest split that has ever come will come in the next ten years, if not sooner, over the King James Bible - and it couldn't come soon enough for me. I'm tired of colleges and universities advertising that they 'use' the King James Bible - tell the whole story! Tell everyone that you do not believe that it is inspired word for word.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, from the Wednesday night Bible study titled, “Revelation to Illumination” (1998)
Shockingly, it was 10 YEARS later that
Pastor Jack Schaap wickedly denied the inspiration of the King James Bible.
Dr. Schaap in his retarded stupid ungodly booklet titled, "Where Are We
Going?," which was passed out at Pastor's School to over 5,000 delegates
disparagingly called King James Bible only believers: "Rats in the
woodpile," "Barbarians" and "Ignorant hillbillies." You can read
Dr. Schaap's own self defense of his fallacy in this clearly twisted
response, in which he is trying to hide behind his alleged "angry" wife and
the "angry" deacons for his incompetence of
denying the
inspiration of the King James Bible.
Pastor Jack Schaap foolishly said the inspiration of the King James Bible is
a "side issue" which "espouses Catholic doctrine." That is blatantly false!
Brother Schaap was my teacher at Hyles-Anderson College for 4 years of
Church Education in my 8 years there (I had Dr. Ray Young for the other 4
years). Dr. Schaap also taught me Basic Homiletics, Advanced Homiletics and
Revelation and I will always cherish those memories and the helpful things I
learned.
In 2009, Dr. Russell Anderson (1931-2023), co-founder of Hyles-Anderson College, was so upset over the church's departure from their former doctrinal position that we have an inspired Holy Bible today without error in the English language, that he wrote an open letter to Pastor Jack Hyles in Heaven and addressed it to his son in law (Dr. Hyles successor Pastor Jack Schaap), pleading with him to return the church to their previous position on Bible inspiration. Pastor Schaap publicly humiliated Brother Anderson, treating like human garbage. Dr. Anderson gave $35,000,000 to Hyles-Anderson College and another $8,000,000 to build their new church auditorium in Hammond. Ingrates!
In 2015, Dr. Anderson wrote another letter to Pastor John Wilkerson, this time requesting that they remove his name from Hyles-Anderson College, since they still refused to return to their former correct position that the King James Bible is inspired. Dr. Anderson worked hard all his life, from the coal mines of eastern Kentucky to the gold mines as a successful businessman, who had a net worthy of $100 million. Brother Anderson gave more than half of his wealth to the Lord. He helped to start 900 churches during his lifetime, and without whose financial donations Hyles-Anderson College wouldn't have been birthed in 1972. Shame on the First Baptist Church of Hammond for stabbing Brother Hyles and Dr. Anderson in the back! Pastor Hyles affectionately called Dr. Russell Anderson, “The brother I never had.”

Pastor Hyles warned his church members before he graduated to Heaven in 2001, not to allow a half dozen men to change First Baptist Church of Hammond, but that sadly is exactly what happened under the incompetent leadership of Pastor Schaap. This whole ordeal is still a nightmare! Today in 2026, the church is still stubbornly upholding their wrong position on the King James Bible. It is a apostasy! By denying Bible inspiration, they have invited a Trojan Horse into their midst.

I thank God for this dear Brother in Christ, whose voice has been silenced, but by God's grace I am still a voice for the truth. If you don't have a King James Bible in the English language, you don't have an inspired Holy Bible!
Everything's Alright In My Father's House
My heart goes out to Brother Baker's family. He has 11 beloved children and a wife. Pastor Baker is another unfortunate causality of this wicked generation, but be of good cheer dear saints of God because we are on the winning side through faith in Christ Jesus (John 16:33). Brother Baker is safe in the Father's everlasting arms, rejoicing with the saints over souls saved, enjoying the calm and peace of Heaven. Proverbs 4:18, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
